How to create username with "."

Hi

When i create username like this
"useradd user.name"
It shows the error message saying that the name contains invalid characters

Is there any way to create username like that,

When i edit the /etc/useradd, /etc/shadow, /etc/group and /etc/gshadow it
worked fine for me
