need your help




Dear All,

i do need your kinf help

i have been running linux redhat 9 for over a year and been workin fine
recently i found that my apache not starting and found that it was giving me an error stating bad group apache

i found that there was a group apache when i say

cat /etc/group | grep apache
apache:x:48:

apache:x:651:48::/home/apache:/bin/bash

when i say su apache

it changes to user apache
but i see
id: cannot find name for group ID 48
[apache@kmdns conf]$

i changed in httpd.conf file the user to nobody n grp to nobody

and httpd works fine .. no error

but i have some software which requires apache to be run as apache

can u plss help mer
