What kind of errors ur getting while bootingup other than
/var/log/messages? Are you getting File system errors?
What kind of application u installed in linux? Is it happening only
after ur installation of application?

I installed my application and rebooted my machine. I got this message
in the /var/log/messages and my harddisk went fault.
