Re: enterprise backup system recommendations

We have been using Veritas backup exec. Its been in the company since I had started here some 5 years ago and its never worked 100% It backups for windows/solaris/linux. I must have spent like 3 years trying to fix the problem. We never bought any support contract with it when it was bought becuase it like was like $50 just to call them and open an issue. But at the end of the day it does what we need and we are happy with it now.

I think AMANDA is right answer.

For small network you can try BACKPPC or BACULA.

Hi All

I was wondering what you are all using for your enterprise wide backup

solutions. We actually don't have a solutions in place technically (I just back up everything to network shares).

We have money now to purchase a robotic tape library and tapes, but we

are not sure what has a solid working reputation that is compatible with Unix/Linux and Windows boxes.

What robotic library tape systems are you using? Would you recommend
it?
Thanks for your help.
