I am wanting to set up an ldap directory on a rhel 5, however slapd doesn't
seem to exist.
I have the ldap rpm's installed:
charger:~ #rpm -q -a | grep openl
openldap-2.3.27-5
openldap-clients-2.3.27-5
openldap-devel-2.3.27-5
charger:~ #rpm -V openldap
S.5....T c /etc/openldap/ldap.conf
(size and md5 doesnt match because I've modified ldap.conf)
charger:~ #rpm -q --filesbypkg openldap openldap-clients
openldap /etc/openldap
openldap /etc/openldap/cacerts
openldap /etc/openldap/ldap.conf
openldap /usr/lib/liblber-2.3.so.0
openldap /usr/lib/liblber-2.3.so.0.2.15
openldap /usr/lib/libldap-2.3.so.0
openldap /usr/lib/libldap-2.3.so.0.2.15
openldap /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.3.so.0
openldap /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.3.so.0.2.15
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27/ANNOUNCEMENT
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27/CHANGES
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27/COPYRIGHT
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27/LICENSE
openldap /usr/share/doc/openldap-2.3.27/README
openldap /usr/share/man/man5/ldap.conf.5.gz
openldap /usr/share/man/man5/ldif.5.gz
openldap /usr/share/openldap
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapadd
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapcompare
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapdelete
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapmodify
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapmodrdn
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldappasswd
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapsearch
openldap-clients /usr/bin/ldapwhoami
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapadd.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapcompare.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapdelete.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapmodify.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapmodrdn.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldappasswd.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapsearch.1.gz
openldap-clients /usr/share/man/man1/ldapwhoami.1.gz
So there was no slapd binary installed...
Am I missing a package or is this package incomplete?
Thx
