You could. SuSE Linux 8.2 uses a newer glibc, so programs from 8.2 won't
necessarily run on 8.1. To be on the safe side, grab the .src.rpm, install
it and recompile using 'rpm -bb'. That way you get an rpm that will
perfectly fit your system.
