[SLE] IRDA on Laptop with SuSE 8.2

Anybody got irda to work on a laptop with SuSE 8.2
I have a samsung P10C with a FIR port enabled in the BIOS on
Port: 0x02f8, IRQ: 3
Windows says its a hsdl-1100 chip with a nscir.sys driver.
If run rcirda start, but irdadump never shows any other devices, nor does
/proc/net/irda/discovery
Any ideas ?
