You are right about the ACPI problem, and i think there are Kernel parameters
he can enter, dont go to Compaq/HP tho, they will charge you and arm and a
leg in support calls. One thing he can try is the Kernel.org website and
join the mailing list, but I wouldnt suggest doing that with a main account
as you can get 200 to 300 e-mails a day from that list.
