    Hey,

I just spent hours, and can't get .htaccess to work with apache.

Does it work in 8.2? I remember there used to be a work around for a
module error in 7.3. I got stung by that one too!

It seems to work, until the end, where it just won't validate the user,
even though the user in in the password file.

    thanks!
