    The last idea starts to give some useful information.
    Ctrl-Alt-F10 first showed me that there could be something
    wrong with the hauppage tv card because the system hanged
    after showing it was working on the card.
    After disabling the card though it still hangs after giving
    several lines of information. I wrote them all down from
    where I uninstalled the TV card because I hope somewhere in
    there the cause of my problem may show.
    Perhaps you or somebody else can help me further with the
    meaning of these lines.
