I use grip in conjunction with cdparanoia for ripping, oggencgt3b1
(Oggenc Garf tuned 3 beta 1) for vorbis and lame for mp3.
The switches I use for vorbis is:
-o %m -a %a -l %d -t %n -q 6 %w
and for lame:
-preset standard %w %m

I compiled them from source, but other than lame and oggencgt3b1, they
are included with SuSE. SuSE can't include lame due to legal reasons.
