I think they are genuine, not spam. They are sent when somebody (you?)
forgot his password to a site, and request the server for a reminder
email, which is sent to the person that originally subscribed.
So, if you have an account in ebay, and you did not request a password
reminder or something, you probably should contact them, because somebody
is perhaps trying to get your password, or wrote the wrong email address
when the subscribed to be your email.
Something of the sort, at least.
