[SLE] Where Is Second CPU?

    Customer has a Compaq 6400r twin PIII Xeon server.
     
    During POST, the BIOS reports both processors as A-OK, but, SuSE 8.2
    installer only "sees" CPU0 and installs the default kernel. Installing the
    SMP kernel with YaST doesn't help; even then only the first CPU is seen by
    the system.
     
    Both CPUs are of the same stepping.
     
    Ideas?
