[SLE] answer three years later

This list is really great. Yesterday I wanted to setup Samba
on a SuSE 8.0 installation. The problem was that I had to
connect an external SCSI CD drive in order to install from the
SuSE 8.0 CDs. I needed to rescan the SCSI bus without
restarting the PC and I remembered seeing that subject
some time ago in this list. I checked my folder of saved
messages and found "[SLE] Rescanning SCSi bus withoutr rebooting"
from 12-04-2000. At the time I didn't have any need for that
but thought it looked useful so I saved it. Thanks to
Greg Thomas I got the help I needed.
