    I can't reproduce the problem on SuSE 8.2 with reiserfs:

    $ cd ~/tmp
    $ dd if=/dev/zero of=testfile bs=1M count=3000
    $ csh -l
    > cd ~/tmp
    > ls test*
    testfile
    > ls -lh test*
    -rw-r--r-- 1 malusek malusek 3.0G 2003-10-08 11:24 testfile
