So, I put the command line:
    export JAVA_ROOT=/usr/lib/java
...in /etc/profile.local and echo $JAVA_ROOT is returning the correct
path (/usr/lib/java) whichever terminal is open.
Although, the same error continues to be shown:
    adagilson@linux:~>java -classpath
    Wapaka.jar:WPKScriptLibs.jar:WPKScript.jar:. Wapaka
Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread

    Thanks for keeping trying.
    a.

PS--John E. Martin told me his path to $JAVA_ROOT is /usr/lib/java. As
my $JAVA_BINDIR and $JAVA_HOME have equals paths to his I think that is
correct to me also. How can I be sure? BTW /usr/lib/java exists on my
    machine.
