This is not the way
I upgraded Gaim yesterdey directly from their site
And I wrote in the list previously:

I am connected succesfully with gaim to M$N
Just downloaded and installed:
gaim. 0.71
gtkspell 2.0.4
gtkspell devel 2.0.4
in the gaim site
Read the FAQ You will find there all the links that you need to get Gaim
plenty functional

Thanks for the advice. Amsn works fine, but seems to be a one-protocol
thing. The beauty of gaim is that you use one client for all protocols: msn,
jabber, icq, aim, etc ...
There must be a way of getting gaim to work. It's probably something with
the SSL lbraries.
