9.0 arrived today, but no go on the install...
I have a DPT PM3865 SCSI controller (uses the dpt_i2o kernel module) with
two SCSI drives attached, sda and sdb. No hardware RAID is configured.
The 9.0 installer sees three drives attached (!) sda, sdb and sdc, with sda
and sdb being identical versions of the same physical drive. After
installation, a boot from the hard disk results in a Grub error.
This same machine has successfully run 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 with the same
hardware in the same configuration. The machine also dual boots Windows 2000
(on sda) and SuSE (on sdb).
This is not a termination or termpwr issue I am sure.
So, are there any parms I can pass to the dpt_i2o kernel module to correct
this behavior? I've tried three installs, regular, no apic and safe, all
with the same results. FYI I just reinstalled 8.1 to get Grub back and be
able to boot W2K.
Thanks!
Mark
