Thanks to all who have given me suggestions.

I will make this a composite reply, rather than sending individual ones and
repeating the same things over again.

The printer is an Epson Stylus Inkjet, with the feed from the top.

Gil, I have tried all six buttons but none of them work. Nothing is printed on
the DL envelopes. Using an A4 (30cm long) sheet of paper as a test, all the
buttons just print at the bottom of the paper with the printing turned
through 180 degrees. That is, parallel to the long side of the paper. With
four of the buttons the printing is in the same place on the left of the
sheet, with one button it is at the bottom but in the middle, and with the
other button it is at the bottom on the left. My default paper size is A4.
Have you had to change any settings from your default ones, other than in the
envelope format? I have tried, but it makes no difference.

Ken, I can insert the envelope into the document and it appears correct in
Print Preview. It just won't print. The "Help" file is of no use in sorting
this printing problem, which appears to be a common one.

Brian and Carlos, it looks as though I will have to follow your suggestions
and get a work-around by making a document with the correct paper size and
margins for the DL size. Then use this as a template each time. It's a bit of
a nuisance as I would have thought that such an important part of OpenOffice
writer would have worked correctly. I wonder if there is an openoffice
mailing list? I must check. If there is, perhaps it has been brought up on
there to the attention of the developers.

Thanks, again, to all who replied.

    Cheers

    Keith
