I was trying to set up openldap and the first problem I've run into is
an issue with the protocol version.

It seems that if I check or uncheck the option for V2 protocol I get an
    entry in the logs for
    "You can't use that protocol"

Before I submit this as a bug, is there something I should be checking
    first?

I am also running into a problem with

    ldapadd -af foo.ldif
    with a response of:

ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Internal (implementation specific) error (80)
additional info: SASL (-13): user not found: no secret in database

I was trying to use this as root, I would have thought root user would
    be "found"

    help?
