Last night I did a fresh install of 9 from 8.2. Before I installed I
backed up my /home directory to my windows drive (1.2GB in size). After
the install I decided to get some stuff from my backup and when I tried
to open it (I tar'd it), I got a notice saying the file doesn't exist.
Now when I backed it up, I did the following "tar -czvf
/mnt/windows/C/tmp/backup.zip /home/tom" When I look at my windows
drive, I can see the file in there and the size is 1.2gb. I have another
zip file which I did of my /srv directory and I can't access that
either.
My new fstab of the windows drive says it mounts to /windows/C while my
old fstab has it at /mnt/windows/C. Could that be my problem? I also
transfered a couple single files into the same location and those work
fine...although they were not tar'd.
Anyone have any thoughts?????
Thanks,
Tom
