    Hi

Finally I got suse 9 printing via samba on a winXP machine. The solution
(at least for me) was the most simple one!!!
I went to YAST and selected "Print via SMB network server". On the next
screen, when I pressed "Lookup" for the "host name of printer server" it
came up with server.mshome.net. When configuring the remaining fields
and pressing Test remote SMB access, everything was fine. But in fact it
wasn't!!! I had to change the host name to "server" not
    "server.mshome.net". And everything worked!!

I had this "brilliant idea" by reading the suse knowledge base:
    http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/04/jsmeix_print-80-probleme.html

I already tested with kde programs and firebird... all working!
