    I am finding some archives that refer to:

    chkconfig --del hwscan

    as being the solution. removes the hardware scan from all reboots, but I'm
    jst a newbie - what do I know.

    reactivate it by using 'yast mouse'
    just simply use the Test button, then cancel

    that means that you have the right mouse model

    we used that because we have a KVM
