Under OSX, I can choose a "location" for my networking which will change my IP
address (or use DHCP), my gateway, and even nameservers for that groups of
settings. This is very nice for my iBook, because I can just select one for
when I'm at home on my home network and select another for at work.

However, I have not found anything in my SuSE 8.2 Pro installation which does
this. I have to change the network settings in one place and then change the
gateway in another. Not terribly hard, but when I have a portable system that
needs static IP and gateway info (not DHCP) and changes frequently, it would
be nice to have something that I can just select a "location" and have
everything set in one fell swoop.

Is there any software in the standard 8.2 (or 9.0, I'm thinking about
upgrading to that and this type of app would make that for sure) that I may
have overlooked that would do such a thing?

I know I could make a simple app or script that would change the settings, but
I don't want to reinvent the wheel if the wheel is already out there. And
given the increasing popularity of Linux on laptops, I would think the chances
of such a tool already existing are pretty good.

    Thanks!
