    This step should never be necessary. I suspect what you are facing is
    that the drive is NOT ALWAYS /dev/sda#. I regularly hot-swap a 250mb
    zip-drive and a compact-flash card reader and they frequently come up
    as /dev/sdb#, occasionally one will be /dev/sdb# and the other
    /dev/sda#. My zip-drive is #4 and my card reader is #1.

    It may not be /media/sda#, see previous note.
