[SLE] vkeybd doesn't work (8.2 & 9.0)

    Greetings
    I'm in need of a virtual keyboard to practice for a choir (not church).
    I've posted before and it appears that vkeybd doesn't work for anyone.
    I've dowloaded the sources and I'm now in the process of debugging
    whilst learning the ALSA API ( I know next to nothing about sound
    cards). Before I embark in earnest, has anyone got this app to work for
    them?
