It seems that you have a Nvidia card. If you have a Nvidia card, you have to reinstall the nvidia driver. So, download the latest nvidia installer from nvidia wed site, and install the kernel source package of the latest suse kernel for 7.3. Log as root in a console (ctrl+Alt+F2), go to runlevel 3 by typing init 3, install kernel source rpm, cd to /usr/src/linux make cloneconfig make dep then cd to /where/you/download/nvidia-installer and run the installer by typing sh nividia-installer-XXXX.sh tell it you want to compile your own kernel driver. when finished just type init 5 X should work now. ---------- Initial Header ----------- From : greg@franks.dnsalias.com To : suse-linux-e@suse.com Cc : Date : 09 Dec 2003 11:05:23 -0500 Subject : [SLE] 7.3 kernel Upgrade -- X fails to start Greetings...
