    Ok. In another thread you said you connect with a Mac. So at least that works.

    I too have a cable modem. My ISP is @Home, and I have to send my client-id as
    hostname to the dhcp server to get a lease. Does that ring a bell to you? Did
    you have to fill in a hostname or client-id during installation on the Mac?
