I've been looking at the YOU auto updates in suse 8.2, and I'd like to make it so that my machine will automatically download updates from a server I specify (another one of my computers). Is this possible? I think it would work if I configure YAST2_LOADFTPSERVER="no" in the file /etc/sysconfig/onlineupdate on the client machine. Then I'd have to like comment out all the entries in /var/lib/yast2/you/youservers (I'm assuming /etc/suseservers is obsolete since there is no reference to it in /etc/sysconfig/onlineupdate) and then add my server to /etc/youservers.
And on the server side. Do I just have to have a certain directory for the updates, does there have to be a certain tree format or can I just point the client to ftp://ftp.myserver.com/onlineupdates (or whatever I name the direcory). Also, would this work for a url as well or does it have to be ftp?
Someone please let me know if I'm way off base here ;).
Thanks,
Nathan Mayotte
