    Forgot to mention that I do have slmdm-2.7.14.tar.gz which
    presumably has a driver for this modem, should such not have
    been included on the SuSE 9 Pro CD set.

    I anticipated that the loader would have automagically loaded
    a modem driver from the SuSE CD's or DVD upon detecting the
    modem. Yes, no, maybe?
