Hello All
Seems I started quite a stir with my messed up Inet
connections.
What I really was asking when I asked about
resolv.conf was what should I have done on my own to
find that the problem was resolv.conf related?
Even with the help of Carlos to find it in the SuSE
Adminisration Guide was a step by step search to find
it in the TOC - for it is not referenced in the index.
At time time I had the problem I did not even know
that is what was missing until another lister told me
to look for it in /etc. I found it in /etc/ppp.
Carlos then fully explained how it is created,
compared, saved ... not saved, lost etc... Egad! So
much to learn...
Thanks all for the help... In the future if I have an
unexpected loss of Inet connection I know where to
look. (How many other such hings will I yet
encounter? It should be a grand adventure.)
