I am running Suse 8.1 Pro on my laptop.

The ethernet interface "eth0" (using dhcpcd) is unable
to obtain IP address from a DHCP server (on office
    LAN).

    I added DHCLIENT_DEBUG='yes' parameter to
    "/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0". Even then I could
hardly make sense of the error messages (pasted at the
    end).
I used to be able to connect before (until a week
    ago).
The only thing I remember doing is compiling
"orinoco-0.13e" wireless driver, which, I guess, has
"hermes.c". I dont know if that has anything to do
    with this problem.

I can't figure out what is wrong.
    I really appreciate your help.

    Thanks
    Bill

The error messages I see in the /var/log/messages are
