As I haven't found or got a solution to this yet, I try again:

The rlogin/rsh packages is installed on my SJDS/SuSE Linux 8.1 host, and
I can rlogin from this host to another (Solaris) networked host.

But the opposite way, from Solaris to Linux, the latter don't respond
the the rlogin request. I was told on this list that the rlogin/rsh
services on Linux 8.1 is turned off by default.

AS I am not able to open 'network services' in the Yast based SJDS
    Configurator I wonder:

How to possibly turn on rlogin/rsh services and start the daemon
manually througt config files and/or startup script?
