I am stuck with SUSE 8.2 which is no bad thing as it is an excellent
distribution (download version)...... due to the fact that neither 9.0 nor
any of the Mandrake versions I have will operate my dual display with my
20" Sun GDM 20D10 fixed frequency monitor under Xinerama.
My problem here is the Galeon will not work under 8.2. What happens is
that it will work fine the first few times I use it, and then any time I
open it, it will start opening copies of windows until it fills the screen
and forces me to do a control / Alt / backspace to kill KDE. It works no
better under Gnome. I have formatted and re installed 8.2 quite a few
times and every time the result is the same.
I am getting a bit frustrated with Linux distributions so far. They all
will do ALMOST what I want, but not quite. I can live with the KDE
browser, but am not entirely satisfied with it. Mozilla doesn't work right
either in the supplied version. Other little glitches are always cropping
up. Any suggestions? Would the shrink wrapped distribution be better
than the download version. I have no objection to paying "full freight" if
the product is what I want and does what I want.

                                                    H.W.
