I am using an internal 56k modem, for now, and it works just fine w/kppp,
however it doesn't want to work very well w/kinternet though great pains have
been taken to make certain that the settings are consistent. It will dial in
and establish a connection (according to the log) but will then just time out
& finally hang up. Excerpt from log:
Feb 27 09:27:30 linux pppd[3017]: Serial connection established.
Feb 27 09:27:30 linux pppd[3017]: Using interface ppp0
Feb 27 09:27:30 linux pppd[3017]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttySHSF0
[I finally terminated the connection after almost a minute]
Feb 27 09:28:50 linux pppd[3017]: Terminating on signal 15.
Feb 27 09:28:54 linux pppd[3017]: Connection terminated.
Feb 27 09:28:54 linux pppd[3017]: Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean:
Feb 27 09:28:54 linux pppd[3017]: Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0
Feb 27 09:28:55 linux pppd[3017]: Hangup (SIGHUP)
Feb 27 09:28:55 linux pppd[3017]: Exit.
