    That was probably the biggest contributing factor.

    I followed recommendations in http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/06/mfabian_display_size.html
    and added DisplaySize with proper dimensions to the monitor section
    of XF86Config. My aging NEC MultiSync is not DDC compliant, apparently.

    The problem is that I am not using KDE, I am running windowmaker,
    so KDE Info Center is unfortunately useless in my case.

    I used xdpyinfo to find out mismatch (not so big actually, ~10%)
    in dimensions.

    Where do I put this XFT.dpi setting? Currently, /etc/X11/Xresources
    has no XFT entries.

    But where do I tweak them if I am not using KDE?
