Running ULB Gnome for a day now on SuSE 9.0 Pro, giving me two whole
days of experience with Gnome... It is very clean and much faster than
KDE (thank you James.) But, the learning curve is a bit steep for me.

    A few questions:

    1. Is there a Gnome equivalent of the KDE "Open Terminal Here" function
for Nautilus? I use a lot of deeply nested folders, and it's nice to get
a terminal opened at the current directory down where I need it.
Besides, my typing isn't as accurate as it used to be! ;-)

    2. When I add a file directory link to a panel, it is opened with
Mozilla. OK, I can see this has advantages in some cases, but for me I
would prefer using the file manager. How do I configure this change
correctly? I tried setting up the shortcut as an application, with the
    run line:
nautilus --no-desktop "/data/documents/The Folder I Want To Open". This
works in that Nautilus opens, but when I close the folder, the
Nautilus-throbber process crashes pretty consistently (1 every 3-4
    times).

    3. I run dual monitors driven by a Matrox G450. In KDE, the workspace
switcher on the bottom panel configures itself uniquely for each
desktop. (I like to name each workspace with the name of the anchor
application running in that space. In KDE, if I had four workspaces on
each monitor, I could have eight uniquely named workspaces.) In Gnome,
the workspaces are named identically on both monitors. Is this
    configurable?

Probably I'll have more questions in the coming days, but so far, so
    good.

Can I say again "thank you" to James? ULB Gnome is quite snappy right
    out of the box!

    Mark
