    Hi List,

is there someone on this list who runs a Compaq ProLiant DL580 with SuSe 9.0
    pro.
We have problems with the hardware perhaps the nic. After a few minutes the
    interfaces
are not able to make any ip to mac resolution. Arp requests for eg. the mac
    of the firewall
turn <incomplete>. Some sniffing on the network shows that the server send
    out arp requests
the fw answers with reply packets but the server does not recognize these
    answer packets.
A rcnetwork restart solves the problem for a few minutes. Even a static arp
    entry does not solve
the problem. At the time when no manual arp resolution is possible the
    communication stops
in spite of the static entries. The NIC was exchanged by HP but the problem
    remains the self.

    Linux Version 2.4.21-166-smp4G

    Slot 5 PCI - 66MHz Capable .........
Additional Pci Device 4 .............. Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC
Additional Pci Device 5 .............. Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC

    Thanks & regards
    Daniel
