[SLE] No Volume Control in Kaffeine

Running SuSE 9.0 Pro, KDE 3.1.4 and Kaffeine 0.4.1. When I try to set
the volume via the slider, I either have full volume or no volume with
.mpg and .avi files. What affects this and/or where can I set this to
work correctly.
