    Open 'Control Center' from the main menu.

    Choose 'KDE Components' from the menu on the left of Control Center.

    Choose 'File Manager' from the new menu that replaces the original on
    the left.

    Choose the 'Behavior' tab in the right hand pane.

    Uncheck 'Show File Tips' and click 'Apply'.
