I have recently loaded 9.0, and was surprised that the smbfs filesystem
is not compiled into the distribution kernel. Is it possible I did
something wrong during the install, or do I need to recompile the
kernel? Trying to run smbmount from my 9.0 box, I get an error 'smbfs
filesystem not supported by the kernel'. Also, running an lsmod does
    not show smbfs.

Can smbfs be loaded as a module, or will I need to recompile?

    Thanks,
    Shawn
