Hey,
I am using an IBM ThinkPad R40 with an ATI Radeon in it. I'm trying to
connect an external monitor (ViewSonic E771 17") to use that instead of
the LCD on the laptop. If I connect it on boot, it works.
Unfortunately, the E771 is only showing at 640x480 and is using Virtual
Resolution to do the rest of the screen, while the LCD is showing proper
resolution.
When I use YaST to try to up the resolution, it seems to break
something. I tell the E771 to display using 16-bit at 1024x768. When I
click "Test" it loads the test screen, but it's REALLY a small
resolution (480 across?) and the mouse stops working. When I
Ctrl+Alt+Del out of the test window and go back to my regular desktop,
the mouse continues to work.
Lastly, when I'm on the console, the Fn+F7 works great. On the other
hand, when I'm in X, it doesn't work.
How can I fix all these issues?
