I recall, some years ago, installing SuSE (?7.1/2) on someone's
machine which was equipped with hard drives configured as RAID..
As I recall, there was an issue about booting from a RAID setup.
Basically, you needed either to have the boot stuff on a non-RAID
drive, or else to boot from a floppy. If the boot files were on
the RAID array then it would not work.
I don't know if things have changed since then, and I certainly
don't claim any reliable knowledge of RAID setups.
So if any of you thinks this may have something to do with Joao's
problems, and knows about RAID and booting, then please spell out
for him how to proceed!
Ted.
