    Ok, I figured it out.

    Installed just lm_sensors 2.8.6 (uninstalled lm_sensors 2.8.3)
    run /usr/local/sensors-detect, everything YES, then smbus
    copied modprobes in /etc/boot.d/boot.local
    > Copy prog/init/lm_sensors.init to /etc/rc.d/init.d/lm_sensors CHANGED
    TO /etc/init.d/lm_sensors

    then I manually tried running modprobes & sensors -s and everything works.
