[SLE] Gnome 2.6 and Schemas

    When I try to select a theme in gnome 2.6 (also in 2.4 from SuSE 9.1), I get
    the following error message.

    The default theme schemas could not be found on your system.
    This means that you probably don't have metacity installed, or that your gconf
    is configured incorrectly.

    Metacity is running, so where is my gconf and how do I configure it?
