I've tried vpnc yesterday but it keeps asking me for a
username/password which I don't need with the Cisco client.
(I have my group name and group password in clear) and I end up
    getting this:
        ./vpnc: response was invalid [1]: INVALID_EXCHANGE_TYPE

Version vpnclient-linux-4.0.4.B-k9.tar.gz of the Cisco client
definitely works fine with SuSE 9.1
