I've had occasional freezes with a MX400 on a Mandrake 9.2 box and
another MX400 that would freeze frequently on a SuSE 9.0 box, I changed
both for FX5200's and they have been OK since, I built another box with
the MX400 and Mandrake 10.0-beta and never had a problem. One thing you
can try as boot options to see if they have any effect. I suspect that
the MX400 is not that well supported.
