Do you have a SCSI cd-rom?

Are you running 2.6 kernel or 2.4?

If you had ATAPI cd-rom and 2.4 kernel, burning cd's requierd the use of SCSI
emulation. Then your cd-rom device is /dev/sr0

With kernel 2.6 you can burn cd's without SCSI emulation.

What you have to do is:
    1. Find what your real device is in /dev
    2. Make sure that /etc/fstab is consistent with the real device
    3. Make sure that your link on your desktop is pointing at right device.

If you are running 2.6 kernel you should configure k3b to use your real
device. If you are running 2.4 kernel you should activate SCSI emulation...

But then again if you have a real SCSI cd-rom everything should be straight
    forward...
