    Hello,

I have described these problems already once, but I have still no
      solution.

After the upgrade to 9.1 from 8.2 my USB/MP3 (Jamba) stick is no longer
      being recognized. However:

        - other USB sticks work,
        - my USB/MP3 stick works without any problems in all other systems,
          including 8.1, 8.2, United 1.0, 9.0 and Windows 2000.
        - my USB/MP3 stick does not work in other 9.1 installations either.

Some people reported to me similar problems with their USB sticks, but
could not describe any useful details (you will details of my problem
      below).

      My question:

-- what, in your opinion, should I try first, how to go further into
the matter, where to start the debugging

-- whether any of you has a USB/MP3 stick, what type and whether it
        works or not,

-- generally, how to proceed with my investigations as what is the
        matter here.

      Here are the details.

When I instert my USB stick, either it will not get mounted, or it will,
but in either case any subsequent try to mount (in the first case) or
access (in the second) the filesystem will end up in hanging up forever
(or for mor then an hour).

Here is what I got in /var/log/messages with the last try:

The device got mounted to /media/usb-storage-odd-USB-FlashDisk:0:0:0p1

A subsequent ls /media/usb-storage-odd-USB-FlashDisk:0:0:0p1 hanged up
(still hangs while I'm writing these words).

Well, obviously it looks like there are I/O errors, but hell, there
aren't any when I plug it in to my SuSE 9.0 or whatever *other* OS I
      tried.

      Any ideas?

      Best regards,

      January
