[SLE] SuSe Linux 9.0 hangs on shutdown

Hello
SuSE Linux 9.0 hangs on every shutdown. The cause of this crashes is
SMPPPD. If I stop SMPPPD manually, the Computer freezes too. Can anybody
help me please. I do not think, I can use this installation that way.
